Unit 1 Chapter 3
Chosen Explosion House Church Network's purpose is not to separate ourselves from the body of Christ but rather to take church to where the lost and unchurched are, into our workplaces and our neighborhoods. We believe it is time to come outside the walls of the church into the streets, homes and even the marketplace. Born-again believers are the church. Wherever we gather to celebrate, fellowship, worship and learn about God is a church meeting. It doesn't have to be inside a building with a steeple on top.
Our Method is to hold bible studies in our home inviting our family, friends, coworkers but especially inviting our neighbors. We offer them opportunities to be saved, discipled and mentored. We develop relationships with people, everyone looking out for each other. We encourage each other in the things of God and in life in general. We pray for each other and stand in faith for each others needs. We eat together and take the Lords supper together. We form true Christian families.
Our greatest desire is to see people born-again. Our heart aches for the harvest of unsaved souls. House church is a way to thoroughly evangelize cities, going into every neighborhood targeting children and teenagers that may never know Jesus if someone doesn't go into their neighborhood to reach out to them. We also reach out to the youths families to bring healing and restoration by the love of Christ.
We don't leave new converts but we work with them on an ongoing basis to make strong disciples. We mentor them and share Gods love with them, teaching them to share that same love with others. We empower them to go and make disciples, reproducing our efforts over and over until a city is not only thoroughly evangelized, but thoroughly disicipled and mentored. When we say thorough, we mean everyone has had an opportunity. Of course everyone will not be saved, but many will. Many people, especially kids and teens do not have the opportunity because their parents do not go to church and they have no way to get there or no one to encourage them to develop spiritually.
When we first go into a neighborhood we hold an event offering a free "yard sale" if possible. We give away free hotdogs and cokes. We have free ballooning and face painting for the kids. We do this to introduce ourselves to the neighborhood and to meet the kids and parents and invite them to our bible club for kids. Then we begin holding our kids service a local park. We give kids opportunity to be saved, then teach them how to apply Gods word to their life. We use puppetry and other means of teaching them. We reach out to their families inviting them to a family bible study. We also reach out to teen in that neighborhood inviting them to a youth service.
The fruit we are seeing is tremendous. In our house church we saw more people come to Christ in our first ten months than we did in 15 years of active ministry in the church as lay leaders. The harvest is truly ripe, just waiting to be picked. People are hungry for God, for His power, for His love. Kids deeply desire spiritual guidance, humans were born to worship God. They were born to have fellowship with God. They need pastors, leaders, teachers and mentors. Teens are no different, they seem to be tough and hard and sometimes unapproachable, but I tell you they are hungry for God. They want to hear truth. They are looking for love and they need guidance. The church must rise up. God needs willing people to go after the harvest. He needs people willing to feed His sheep, feed His lambs.
Not only are we seeing souls saved but as we welcome these new converts into our lives and commit to ongoing discipleship training for them we are seeing so many lives radically changed. People are getting right with God. Spiritual awareness is being raised in our neighborhood. We are seeing bodies healed and many answered prayers. But we know that we are going to see more and more awesome things as time goes on, and we are able to get more and more house churches up and running.
If one small house church can have this kind of impact in a neighborhood, think how 20 house churches in a city would impact that city or 50 house churches or 100. Think how public schools in that city will begin to change when kids began getting right with God and reaching out to their peers. These kids are not only saved but taught continually how to live for Jesus and be a true disciple and be a true witness. What will happen when hundreds of kids in a city get right with God and start praying for their peers and their schools? When teens so on fire for God that they want to start their own youth house church? Or when parents are so impressed with their child's spirituality and zeal for God that they agree to host a kids church lead by their child? It can happen! This kind of effort will start a snowball effect when powered by the Holy Spirit.
With all our hearts we know that this work is ordained by God. Now is the time. His anointing and His blessing is upon this ministry. The vision is His, the goals are His and the methods are His. House church evangelism is one of many things God is doing in the earth but without doubt it is a very powerful, exciting and even explosive work. That is why God named us Chosen Explosion. An explosion of Gods Chosen is taking place and we are very excited God has allowed us to take part in it.
