Discipleship One
Preface

Welcome to Chosen Explosions D-Team!

Our team is named after the U.S. military special operations unit, called the Delta Force. They are an elite military group that have given them self to intense training. Because they have given themselves to this training, the United States military uses them for very special purposes.

Like the Delta Force, you are a special operations unit in the body of Christ. You also must give yourself to intense training to be ready and prepared to perform the operations God will send you to do. You are in the army of God and there are spiritual battles to fight and win. When you compete the D-Team training, you will be prepared and equipped to perform every work that God will send you to do.

For those of you who are able to attend the meetings, your meetings will last about one hour. They consist of approximately thirty minutes of teaching, and thirty minutes of discussion, accountability and prayer. There will also be a ten question true or false quiz to see if you retained the most important elements of each lesson. You are not allowed to miss more than two meetings during the twelve weeks and still receive credit for the course without making up the missed meetings. Please bring your Bible and the notebook we provide to every meeting.

For those of you completing this course on line, work at your own pace. Each lesson will take 30 - 45 minutes to complete.

In Discipleship one, you will be presented with a set of challenges each week. These challenges are designed to help you set up disciplined, character-building habits that will serve you well and make you a powerful weapon in the hands of God. The challenges are as follows.

1. Scripture reading: two chapters each day

2. Scripture Memorization: Memorize one or two specified verses each week.

3. Prayer: Spend the specified amount of time in prayer each day beginning with no less than ten minutes each day building to longer periods over time. If you are a new Christian, pray mainly for yourself, asking God to help you in all of your weak areas. Also, pray for your family, friends, the D-Team, Chosen Explosion, your community, school and nation.

4. Operation L.O.V.E.: (Living Out Virtuous Examples) Each week you will be given a different love challenge. This is practice in fulfilling the greatest command, to love God with all your heart and to love your neighbor as yourself.

You have made the right choice to give time to your spiritual growth. The education you receive from school or college is important, but pales in comparison to the importance of learning and growing in the things of God. Our time on this earth is short for each of us, but our spirit will live forever. Spiritual education will give you a good life and prepare you for eternity as well. God Bless each of you on your journey to complete spiritual maturity!
