Some believe that to teach about the devil gives him glory. Actually, speaking the truth about the devil exposes him, hinders his evil plans and leads to the destruction of his works and of his kingdom. Satan does not want us to know the truth about him. He would much rather that we be ignorant of him and his ways. He would prefer that we believe that he does not even exist. That way he can move about unhindered doing his evil deeds, wrecking havoc in our lives.
Think about a liar, a thief and a murderer. Do they want people to know the truth about them? No, of course they don’t. If people do not know, they can continue to lie, steal and kill. If they are discovered, their evil deeds will be put to an end. Satan is a liar, a thief and a murderer; one that we do not have to put up with.
We can walk in complete freedom from Satan and his demons. Jesus’ death on the cross purchased our freedom. This is God’s part in setting us free; now we must do our part. Freedom from demonic oppression comes in three levels. First strongholds must be torn down. Strongholds are false ideas or wrong beliefs. Strongholds hold us in captivity to demonic forces. The Bible teaches us that the truth sets the captives free. Knowledge and understanding based on God’s word tears down every stronghold of the enemy. It brings light into dark places and begins to set us free. This is one level of freedom.
We must understand that Satan and his demons work based on their spiritual legal rights. If they have the right to torment us in particular ways, they will. There are things that we do or that others do, or others do to give Satan and his demons rights to invade our life. We must learn what those are and how to take away their rights to torment us. This brings about another level of spiritual freedom.
Even after strongholds have been torn down and we have knowledge and understanding concerning the kingdoms of darkness and light, and even after we have taken away demons rights to torment us, some demons still will not leave. We must do what Jesus did, cast them out. This brings the final level of deliverance. We then must continue to walk with God and do on-going spiritual warfare to maintain our freedom. As long as Satan remains loose, we must remain diligent. First Peter 5:8 says, be sober, be watchful: your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.
Sadly, the church has lived in ignorance. Most have chosen to turn their heads from the ever increasing evil all around us, and have not learned and exercised our God given authority over the devil and his works. Many church leaders have let the church and the world down by not exposing the enemy and teaching their people how to deal with him. The Bible is full of information about Satan, his kingdom and his evil ways. Learning about Him is surly important.
It is past time for the church to rise up and take our spiritual authority, to expose and deal with the enemy. Regardless of age, social standing or any other thing, if you are born-again, you have all the power and the authority you need through Christ to defeat the enemy. Now, you only need knowledge. God’s word says that His people perish for a lack of knowledge.
Pathways to freedom will teach you what God’s word reveals about our enemy and how he operates. It will also teach you who you are in Christ and how to walk free from all the tricks and the devices of the enemy. Our prayer is that as you study Pathways to Freedom, God will give you eyes that see, ears that hear and a heart that can understand His truth concerning the tactics of your enemy and your God given authority over all the works of darkness. We believe that as you give yourself to the study of God’s word, you will begin to see yourself the way God sees you, as more than a conqueror!
