From our point of view the job of the house church is not to take people from other churches. Our purpose is to win the lost and make mature disciples. We are here for the lost and unchurched. It is our hearts desire to see unity and power restored to all of God's church. It is not our desire to bring any division at all to the body of Christ. We love the church with a passion and only want good for it. As far as Chosen Explosion House Church Network is concerned we will always be in unity with the entire body of Christ. Unity, not further division in the body of Christ is what is needful and helpful.God is raising up an army to accomplish His purposes in these last days. We believe house church is one tool that God is using to do this. There are many reason why God has chosen to use house churches. Lets look at some of them:
1.) Rapid and thorough evangelization. House churches evangelize their neighborhoods, family members, coworkers and friends. They meet in small groups and encourage everyone to participate in ministry or to do the work of the ministry. They break off when their numbers are still small and start other house churches reaching other neighborhoods. House churches are evangelisic multipliers. The church grows very quickly. I see the house church as a harvesting machine. I also see it as a gleaner. It comes into a neighborhood and gleans what the church has left unharvested. While it is true that not everyone will be saved no matter what the church does, the house church can harvest millions that the traditional church has missed by going becoming evangelistic pastors of a neighborhood.
2.) Relationships are built. The groups are very small and intimate. Everyone gets to know everyone very well and become like family. House churches share meals together often, they work together in all the work of the ministry. Rather than meeting at a building once or twice a week people gather in each others homes and share their lives with one another.
3.) Everyone is mentored and discipled. Because the groups are small and intimate everyone is taught to be a true disciple of Christ. Everyone is helped, encouraged and supported to become all they can. No one falls through the cracks. Everyone is encourage to mature spiritually and help others to mature also.
4.) House church is less threatening for some. Many that will not go to our big churches will come to our home for a bible study.
5.) Those without shepherds can be shepherded. It is the role of a house church to become shepherds for those without shepherds in their neighborhoods. We are to reach out building relationships even with those who will not right away come to our services. We are to show them love and make ourselves available to them. The house church is to pray for their neighborhood and find ways to reach out to them. One way is to have a "Bible club" for kids in the neighborhood. Kids love to learn about Jesus. You will lead them to Christ and be able to reach out to the rest of their family with the love of Jesus at the same time. God will show you ways to reach out to them. In their time of need they will turn to you even if they have never come to your group.
6.) Everyone can be taught and encouraged to be a minister. In the intimate house church environment everyone is encouraged to minister to others in one way or another. Maybe through the teaching or preaching of the word. Maybe through prayer or by food preparation or evangelizing. Everyone is needed and used according to their own giftings and callings. This helps make mature disciples, everyone takes a role.
7.) House churches act as nets to catch and disciple the new converts during times of revival. We believe that house churches are a huge part of God's plan for the coming revival. We believe house churches will be the very thrust of revival and already are in many places around the world.
8.) Preparation for coming times of persecution: If the church must go underground because of persecution it will be prepared to do so. As my son was recently praying, the Lord referred to our church as the underground church. This surprised him and me as well. We had never thought of our house churches as "underground". We believe there may be a time when going underground will become necessary.
9.) Being available to those who have no church or pastor during times of national turmoil. Because of terrorism and many other things people are very much afraid. Luke 21:26 talks about a coming time when men's hearts will fail them because of fear of the expectations of things coming on the earth. House churches will be poised and ready to reach out to their neighbors with Gods love and hope during times of great stress and fear.
10.) Provides opportunities for children to be saved and discipled. So many children are not taken to church by their parents, neither are they taught about God in the home or school. Not many traditional churches reach out to the unchurched kids on a continuing basis, if at all. House churches are in a perfect position to evangelize and disciple kids in their own neighborhood. We provide a special church service just for kids. Kids are very easy to reach. They are innocent and their hearts and minds are receptive to the truth of Jesus. With a house church in every neighborhood kids can walk to church or be picked up by the groups leader or members easily and quickly. This gift of Gods love given to unchurched kids is worth more than can be expressed. Not only are they easily saved and discipled but they are eager to lead other to Jesus. God has awesome and powerful plans to use children in the end-time harvesting of souls.
11.) Provides spiritual mothers and fathers to children, teens and young adults. God has shown us that there will be a tremendous spiritual awakening among youth. He is going to use them powerfully for His glory. They will have passion, zeal and energy but they may lack maturity, knowledge, wisdom and experience. They will need loving guidance, support, discipleship and encouragement. God is raising up a host of spiritual mothers and fathers for this very purpose.
12) Provides care for each other. The cost of operating a house church is low, therefore; our giving can go to do the work of evangelism and to meet the needs of people.
Now the multitude of those who believed were of one heart and one soul; neither did anyone say that any of the things he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common. And with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all. Nor was there any among them who lacked; for all who were possessors of lands or houses sold them and brought the proceeds of the things that were sold, and laid them at the apostles' feet; and they distributed to each as anyone had need.
