Discipleship is of vital importance to every Christian. Without discipleship, we will remain the spiritual newborns we become when we first accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord. Time alone does not mature us spiritually, the same way that time alone will not mature a newborn baby. A newborn baby must have food (milk) in order to grow. He must be taught many things. A new Christian must have food also in order to grow and must be taught many things. Our milk and meat is the word of God. With a steady diet of the God's word we will grow to be strong Christians.
