Questions And Answers About Chosen Explosion
General Information
Q. What is Chosen Explosion House Church Network:
A. Exactly what the name implies. It is a network of house churches. Chosen Explosion is a youth minded and youth oriented church. We have laid a foundation that includes adults because we feel that unless the whole family unit is ministered to, true spiritual healing cannot come to youth and their families. God cares about the entire family unit and so do we. Chosen Explosion churches are independent but yet all linked as one. A complete house church may be comprised of three groups in one neighborhood called tri-groups: a family group, a children's group and a youth group. A neighborhood may be comprised of just one group depending on what God raises up in that particular neighborhood.Q. Why is a group called a tri-group.
A. We felt that we should lay a foundation of a complete house church in a neighborhood being comprised of a youth group, a children's group and a family group. Tri means three. However, every neighborhood may not have all three groups. It may have only a youth, only a children's, only an adult or one that combines all three.Q. Why does Chosen Explosion feel the need to have separate services for teens and kids?
A. Evangelizing teens and children is extremely important to us. We feel we can reach the most teen-agers and children by having a service specially designed for their needs and interests.Q. Where did the name Chosen Explosion come from?
A. We believe this is a prophetic name that the Lord gave us. It is based on 1 Peter 1-10.1 Peter 1:9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light...
We believe this is the hour in history for an explosion of the chosen! We believe God is raising up this ministry and many more like it to provide every living soul an opportunity to be saved, discipled and used by God right in their own neighborhood, within walking distance of their homes or even in their own home. We believe God has called us to take church to where the people are, especially for children and youth who may not have an opportunity to be saved or discipled any other way.
Q. How are the churches identified?
A. They are identified by the city or county then by district, which is the zip code of that group and by its area which is the specific neighborhood. They are also identified by the leader's name.Q. How are the fellowships independent?
A. The leaders are allowed to teach what they feel is needed in that specific group within the guidelines of the churches basic beliefs. The church is allowed to evangelize using the methods they prefer. The church is allowed to worship in the way they prefer.Q. How are the fellowships one?
A. We are one church, with one headship, broken down into neighborhood churches for the sake of evangelization and ministering to neighborhoods. All the churches of an area come together to worship monthly. We all share the same goals and vision. Also see our missions statement. Each church will be birthed out of another one. Area and district churches may meet together for certain occasions. All the churches will support and help one another. We all share the same basic beliefs and all are "full gospel"Q. What do you mean when you say full gospel?
A. We take the word of God as literal and for today. We believe the fullness of God's power is still in effect today. We believe that all the ministry gifts: pastor, teacher, apostle, prophet and evangelist are still in effect and very important in the body of Christ today just as in the days of the churches beginnings. We believe all nine of the spiritual gifts are still in effect and very important to the health of the body of Christ today the same as in the beginning of the church age. The nine spiritual gifts are tongues, interpretation of tongues, gifts of healing, miracles, discernment, faith, word of knowledge, word of wisdom and prophecy. We believe without all these gifts in operation in the body of Christ, it is ineffective and cannot do the job that it is called to do. We believe this world is desperately in need of God's supernatural power flowing through His people.Q. What is the leadership organization of the groups?
A. Each group has it's own leader, Co-leader and various workers as needed. Everyone should be encouraged to help in one way or another, depending on their calling and giftings. Everyone is valuable and needed in the body of Christ and in the work of the ministry.Q. When is a tri-group considered to be mature?
A. A tri-group is considered to be mature when it has 12 or more regular attendees.Q. When our group is "mature" does that mean we should stop evangelizing our neighborhood and city?
A. No, your group may grow as large as your space provides room for but when the group becomes mature would be the time to send at least 2 out to start a new group.Q. Does a group have to wait until the group is mature to send out new leaders?
A. No, a church may send out leaders and CO-leaders into new neighborhoods at any time there is an available leader and CO-leader discipled, trained and ready to go.Q. When do the groups meet?
A. Any day or time that works for the leaders and group members.Q. Could there ever be other groups besides families, youth and children?
A. Yes, there may be other groups that spring up within a neighborhood that are also a part of that one house church. Examples of such groups might be singles, seniors, intercessors, healing homes, etc. These groups would also be a part of the family group in that particular neighborhood. These groups are exceptions rather than the norm for a Chosen Explosion house church but are very much welcomed.Q. Is there ever more than one family group in a neighborhood?
A. There may be a need for more than one family group per neighborhood but when this happens that area will be divided into smaller areas.Q. Do all the churches ever come together to worship?
A. Yes, we come together for a monthly service that we call Chosen Explosion United services.Q. Where are the United services held?
A. In someone's home if space is permitting; otherwise, in a rented facility that meets the size requirements for that particular city or county group. This information will always be communicated by house church leaders.Q. Can all ages attend the family groups?
A. Yes, if there is a family service in that neighborhood then all groups in that neighborhood are encouraged to attend. They are one church and should stay in communication with one another and help one another.Q. What does the family worship service consist of?
A. Meetings consists of worship, Bible study, prayer, personal ministry as needed, fellowship. The details are decided by the leaders.Q. What is the mission of the Family meetings?
A. To continually reach out to the community in whatever ways God leads, to build strong families, to disciple, to meet the personal, spiritual and social needs of the people. To equip the saints to also do the work of the ministry and to send others to start new house churches, reaching more neighborhoods with the gospel. To tie the groups of one neighborhood together, providing support and help to the youth and children's groups if they exist in that neighborhood. Our overall mission is to work together and with the Holy Spirit to build God's kingdom.Q. Are there ministry opportunities for the average person, and if so what?
A. Yes, there are endless opportunities for everyone. We believe everyone is a minister in one way or another. Not everyone is a leader, but everyone has callings and giftings. We want to help you find your place of service to God.Q. What are the requirements to be a leader or a co-leader of a family group?
A. Every leader and co-leader must be actively involved in a house church group if possible. They must be saved, either baptized in the Spirit or seeking the Holy Spirit Baptism. They must be spiritually stable and living a life pleasing to the Lord according to scriptures.Q. I don't have a lot of Bible knowledge, experience speaking, or education. Can I lead or co-lead a family group?
A. Yes you can! What better place to get experience than in a small group with lots of love and support and how better to learn the bible than having regular responsibilities such as these? As a leader you are to guide or facilitate the Bible study. You simply take turns reading the scriptures and discuss them as a group. You would be amazed at how many people don't even read the Bible so reading the Bible with them with be a benefit to them. Besides the Bible can preach all by itself. Pray about it and if God puts it in your heart to lead or co-lead, He will enable you. All of us are still learning, but guided experience is the best teacher.Q. If I want to lead a family group will I have to do all the teaching and other work?
A. No, you will facilitate. It will be your job to use others in the group and encourage everyone to take a part in whatever way they are gifted or called. If you have people that want to teach, help them and share the responsibility. Let others help all they can and are willing in all the different areas. But you and your co-leader will remain as the leaders, facilitators and the ones in authority in that group. As a group leader you will also be prayerfully considering those who have the giftings and ability to lead other groups.Q. If I choose to lead a family group do I also have to do a youth and children's group?
A. No, You only do what you feel called and ready to do. It would be hard for one leader and one co-leader to do three separate groups. You would begin inviting people in your neighborhood to come to your home for a bible study. Whoever comes, comes and you go from there. God will lead you and show you what you need to do and send the people you need to help meet the needs of your neighborhood. Every neighborhood will not have all three groups. Your group may always be one combined group with no need for more. Again, God will lead.Q. I want to lead a group. What do I need to do?
A. If you are already in a group talk to your leader. If you live where there are no Chosen Explosion house churches, contact us for information on how to get started. If you have a heart to evangelize your neighborhood and want to be a part of a larger group for support, we can provide that for you and help you.Q. What is the group for kids called?
